All-Stars playing here from 3 to 4 PM!
The first Mestizo West Side Arts Festival, a celebration of art, community and civic engagement, is scheduled Saturday on North Temple between 600 West and the Interstate 15 overpass.
The free event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., will feature food, dancing, kidsâ activities, a graffiti wall, poetry slam, car show and silent auction.
The festival marks the anniversary of the Mestizo Institute of Culture and Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building community through educational equity and housed inside the Mestizo Coffeehouse near 600 West on North Temple.
The Mestizo Institute was created in 2003 to promote creative art projects and promote cross-cultural dialogue across the cityâs under-represented communities.

Thanks for rockin' the crowd at the Fresh Air, Freedom & Fun Festival in Evanston this past Saturday! The crowd loved you guys. I've heard from many who were further back in the park, hosting booths and games and those who were doing the Rotary Chuckwagon dinner that even though they couldn't be near the stage, they loved hearing you guys! Just so you are all aware one of our vocalists Dave Wilkinson was in a motercycle accident this past Sunday. Needless to say he will be out for a while. He is at IHC and will be there for the next 10 days or so. It would be great if all the fans could wish him a swift recovery. I know that it would mean a lot to him if he heard from you guys. I'll make sure Dave or his mother checks for new messages everyday so get typing! Once again the All Star fans are the best in the world! Thanks!

Shoutout to all the fans! Please help us help the young men and women serving in the military overseas by donating your old cell phones and chargers. The phones are recycled and sold to buy calling cards that are given to soldiers to call home with. Bring them to any of our performances and we will have a box for you to drop them off in. Be sure to wipe the memory first. Thanks for your help in this great cause!

Wish I could join you guys on New Year's Eve, but I'll be having a pretty large time here in Evanston, spinning tunes @ 10:30 to warm up the crowd for the 10th annual "Times Square in Depot Square" - 27 minutes of spectacular fireworks choreographed to music from the 50's to present day.

New audio in our audio page jukebox features Preston Kofoed sing *The Beatles/George Harrison's* "Something" & *Johnny Lang's* "Lie To Me," along with Richie Tuero singing "That's All Right (Mama)" by Elvis. The particular recordings were also made with an H2 Zoom, but the Zoom was on the floor, too close to stage monitors, (you know, those smaller speakers pointed back toward the band, so they can hear themselves?) consequently some of the vocals sound muffled and overmodulated, but you can still enjoy the musicianship.
